• Elizabeth Lovelace - Violin. Elizabeth began studying the violin at age eight at the Cleveland Institute of Music in Cleveland, Ohio. She majored in music in college. When she moved to the Northwest in 1987 she became immersed in the dance scene in Seattle. She was a member of Orchestra Seattle directed by George Shangrow. She
was also a member of Keltoi, a performing celtic band. She has played for numerous
dances in the Seattle area since 1990. She is presently performing with Zi Jal and the
Saratoga Chamber Players.

• Troels Oxenvad - Acoustic Guitar.
Troels has worked as a
professional musician in a wide
variety of settings since the age of
18. His self produced album from
2001, Powerboy, was promoted
and distributed by fusion great
Allan Holdsworth's record label
Gnarly Geezer Records. Since 2002 he has composed and recorded music for more
than 60 TV documentaries. Zi Jal is a welcome opportunity to get out of the studio to

Zi Jal means journey of the heart in Romano, the ancient language of the Gypsies.
Zi Jal fuses Gypsy Jazz, Balkan, Celtic, European and
American Folk, Jazz and Classical into melodies and rhythms
which are musically complex, yet danceable and fun. Zi Jal is currently
writing and recording for a CD release in 2008.
